Welcome to this blog for piano lovers, piano admirers, piano players and those who wish they were piano players! Pianos. What great friends they can be. How like a magic carpet they can so quickly whisk us off to faraway galaxies of our souls.
I don't remember when I played my first one. Somewhere around Third Grade I started taking lessons. Teachers came and went, and there were long and short gaps, but around Seventh Grade I found a teacher who really got me motivated and I started to really love playing. I continued to play and take lessons through high school and university.

During my last year of high school, my interest in playing dovetailed with my interest in how pianos worked. I studied to become a piano technician, started my own business and paid my way through university tuning and restoring pianos. Twenty years later, I still love playing piano and still love making my customers' pianos sound better! Over the years I've worked on thousands of pianos and had thousands of conversations with folks about pianos. This blog is an outgrowth of those many conversations. I hope you'll enjoy it and find some inspiration for your own piano journey!
